I rave about this hip seat to any mother who'll listen. I love to carry my children as much as possible. But there's only so much your arms or back can take! So I invested in this surprise find. I used it with my last baby from 5 months to 2 years old. It was wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Very easy to whip on and off and can take a lot of 'abuse' and use (the wedge inself is very sturdy and the covering is serious hardwearing and machine washable). Babies and children are always most content hanging out with their parents. So, this seat is a great parent-child bonding item. You can chat while you work or play or are out for a walk together. We used to take ours with us when we went out for the day even if we had the pushchair with us. It's an interesting diversion for them to have a change and see the world from your height (and let your toddler pinch the pushchair for a quick snooze too :0). I have a HippyChick Hipseat now for my new baby as well. She's only just turning 4 months but I can use it as a sort of shelf to help take some of the weight while I cradle her horizontally. Oh, if they get sleepy it's easy for them to nod off on to your shoulder too if you're out walking. A MUST have item for any one wanting to keep life as simple and easy as possible with a baby or small child.

Absolutely fabulous! I bought one when my daughter was 5 months old as at 17lbs she was just too heavy for me to carry her in the baby carrier -my back was in bits! But she loves being able to see what's going on and arches her back to get out of the pushchair!Now 8 months old I don't know what we'd do without it. We take it out everywhere with us and it was particularly useful in the airport as we checked our pushchair in with our bags. I have it on permanently at home as with 3 flights of stairs it is a saviour. Ready to use straight out of the box; the belt part (100% nylon) velcros around your waist and there's a click in fastener for extra security. To put it on you position the seat (100% polyurethane and removable when you want to wash the belt) over your right hip and once on can use it on either side. As your baby/child is not attached you must hold on to them while seated. When out and about and not in use I velcro it around the pushchair handle. I have had no back pain since using this ingenious invention and have a very happy baby who can interact with mummy and see the world go by. An essential baby-buy for anyone who carries their baby/toddler!
