5 out of 5 stars Jacques the Peacock - baby entertainment!   September 1, 2008

Lamaze have a wide range of items for babies which all seem to work well. Jacques the Peacock contains a wide range of colours, rattles, patterns and textures etc to stimulate baby and keep him interested. The back of his wings are black and white - easy colours for baby to focus on in the early days. When baby is a little older he'll be interested in the front of the wings - they contain different fabric textures, and one wing has a squeaker, one has a rattle, one has a mirror and the fourth one has different fabric inserts on it. There are 'taggie' ribbons around the rattle which babies seem to find fascinating. The large clip means that Stretch can be attached to a pushchair, baby gym etc to keep baby occupied. My 16 week old little boy loves him - even just holding on to him. Highly recommended, 5 stars.

My 3-month son adores this peacock mainly due to the flapping sound of its wings. Its colourful and has two sides so you can turn it and have completely different toy.

My daughter (now 7 months) has had this toy from birth and loves chewing his wings, and playing with the crinkly fabric! However this toy really came into it's own when I had to get my daughter off to sleep in the buggy - she was really upset and overtired, so I decided to hook Jacques onto the hood of the buggy - she stopped crying immediately and was soon fast asleep watching him sway about. I've used Jacques ever since when my daughter has to sleep when we are out and about and he has never let us down yet. Brilliant!

We got this as a present for our newborn daughter and right from the time she was able to focus on objects she has loved it and often found her gurgling and babbling away to it when she was on her moses basket. Now she is 7months old she still enjoys playing with it.

It is has a black and white pattern on the back, suitable for newborns and is brighly coloured on the front, it contains different textured materials, squeaks, crinkles and is suitable for older babies too. I would highly reccommend this toy to everyone, it has given out daugher so much pleasure

I bought Jacques for my baby when she was a few weeks old. She loved the back of him(black and white) then and as the months have gone on she's discovered new bits and has fallen in love with him over and over again. When she was tiny I clipped him to the hood of the pram and she loved watching and reaching up to him. For a while he hung on her cot and she'd fall asleep staring up at him. Now (9 months) he's in her cot along with the rest of her menagerie and she's happy to wake up and have a play in the morning before shouting for me. I'm now used to waking up to the crinkling of his cellophane-lined wings.
