Product Description Repositionable toys include a soft hanging monkey, a soft toucan with jingle, an elephant with soft ears and a spinner with beads, a parrot with a paddle spinner and a frog character mirror. Two satin butterflies fly around above baby as colored lights pulse on and off while music plays. The large mat has a quilted rainforest underside, sun ray ribbons, and a soft tiger tail. A large soft giraffe sits at the bottom of the rainbow arch and has two points on which to link toys for baby. Mom can also link the toys to any of three link points on the mat as well as to any of five link points overhead for a total of 11 places to link toys for baby. Mom can choose between three modes of play: Baby mode allows baby's play time movements to set off eight to 12 seconds of lights and music. Music mode plays music for 20 minutes while baby plays. Rainforest mode plays 20 minutes of rainforest sounds while baby plays. The gym provides four songs and two sound effects sequences. Requires 2-C batteries, not included. Gym measures 20" x 32.5" x 32.5".

Been my baby's favourite toy for ages August 20, 2009 S. Groom (Hampshire, England) 20 out of 20 found this review helpful
I bought this after seeing good reviews and my son absolutely loves it. I bought it when he was only a few weeks old and even then he found it engaging. As time goes on, he finds more and more to be interested in moving on from looking at the various features to batting them to then actually playing with them and improving his dexterity. Now, he looks longingly at it as he's carried around the room and friends who have tried it with their babies decided they would also buy it.
Good points:
- Plenty of hanging items (elephant with rattle beads), toucan with rattle, parrot with rotating discs, soft monkey, hanging mirror, butterflies attached to the hub that hover about when the bars are knocked. You can move the toys around the mat and the attachments and some of the attachments are low enough for very young babies to touch and see them. I looked at several mats where the toys were just too high for a baby laying down to interact with. You can also attach the toys to the outside of the mat for tummy time and there is a crinkly leaf that lifts up to show a hiding bug.
- Sturdy and quality construction with with attention to detail, such as the inclusion of the felt leaves from the central hub and the lovely giraffe.
- Bright, colourful fabric that cleans up well (the mat has to be washed as a delicate on a cold wash) and hasn't incurred any shrinkage, fading, etc
- Music and sounds that aren't too annoying, as well as four lights under the hub that fade on and off in time with the sounds. The rainforest sounds are actually very nice. The music is bearable. There are 3 settings: rainforest sounds, music and music started by the bars being struck. There are two volume levels. I rarely have it on the loudest setting and the batteries have lasted ages (C batteries).
- The bars are far enough apart to put a change mat in between to keep your little one occupied while you change their nappy.
Bad points:
- As a previous reviewer said, once the bars have been put together using the hub it's impossible to detach them again without wondering if you're going to permanently damage it! You can take the bars apart from each other to the point where they can be folded together and it can still all be put in its original bag. I can't do the middle popper up on the bag, but it's still travelled well out and about.
- The mat is thinner than some others so you can imagine it might get a bit uncomfy after a while. Needs to be placed on carpet or a rug. It is easier, however, for babies to move themselves around on the mat.
- It would've been nice to have the complete package and have a head and shoulder support for tummy time. I bought another mat for this and don't use the mat the support came with at all. It would also be nice if the butterflies went around by themselves, but it can give older babies something more to reach for.
I have no doubts about how good this product is and would quite happily recommend it to anyone. Well worth the money. I bought it from babycity through Amazon and the service was excellent.
Wish I'd bought this one! January 22, 2009 Fraze 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I don't actually own this gym as we bought the mamas and papas 'lotty' play gym. I really wish I'd have bought this one instead though. I've used my friends one and it is far better than the one we bought. It captures baby's attention for longer and the sounds it makes when baby taps the toys are very entertaining for them. The dangling toys can all be moved around and some of the holes in the frame are low down so that even young babies can reach them. Also the mat is quite flat which is by far better so that baby can practice rolling over (which she can't on the 'lotty' one as it's far too padded) I would definitely recommend this one over some of the other gyms I've used.
My baby loved this. November 27, 2009 L. jacobs (UK) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this when I was pregnant and boy was I glad I did!
I placed my daughter beneath the gym when she was about a week old. Being as she was so young I never expected much but I was pleasently surprised that she seemed to instantly love it!
At only a few weeks old she would reach for the various colourful toys and smile at them. She would stare at the lights for ages.
It became a godsend for me during the first few months as it seemed the only time she wasn't crying was when she was under the gym. It kept her occupied for at least 20 mins a time (a few times a day) so I could get things done.
At about 6 months she started lifting her head and just dropping it back down on the floor so I stopped using it. The mat itself isn't very thick and I have wood floors. She also started getting upset when she couldn't pull the toys into her mouth (teething!) so I decided to get the fisherprice jumperoo (another godsend!) Which is perfect for her present age of 7 months.
The fisher price rainforest gym says use up until 12 months but I don't think it lasts so long. However, I couldn't rate it down for this. This baby gym was the only thing which kept my daughter happy during the early months when she seemed to cry all the time. It was worth the money.
It looks great, has lots of colourful toys for the baby to play with. The lights and music really seemed to amuse my daughter too. This is a bit more pricey than some other baby gyms but well worth the extra money.
Great for baby development!
The best baby gym! April 7, 2010 Mahican Gielen (Denmark) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
We love this gym and so does our son who is now 4 months old and has used it daily from around week 6. He plays in it many times a day now and is beginning to discover all the different toys, whereas at first he could just happily stare up and laugh at the toys but especially the lights on top. Here's a list of pros and cons:
Pros:
1) Usable from early on to probably many months. The fact that this gym has different coloured lights under the top is sublime: it catches babys attention from early on and remains interesting. The lights also "dance" on the music!
2) Nice toys and the Rainforest-theme is lovely (we also own the bouncer from this range which is the best - see that review!). The music is actually also kinda OK and I find myself humming it throughout the day :-)...
3) Sturdy built: I just grab the arches and move the gym in the house.
4) You can hang and add your own toys on the many loops. I use a few Lamaze toys for this purpose which seems to work very well.
5) Batteries last long: I have yet to change them after 3 months!
Cons:
1) The mat is thinner then I expected or wished for, but the gym lies on our rug in the living room thus there is no real problem. If you have wooden or hard floors I would definitely recommend a rug or soft blanket under it.
2) It's not very easily portable outside the house. We had no intentions of the gym going along on outings but if you would want this you can take the arches off the mat and fold them into 1 and take the mat along seperately. This is very well possible but in my opinion not easy or ready-to-go.
Summing things up I would absolutely recommend this gym, it's really worth the money. As I mentioned, the fact that this one has dancing lights is fabulous and makes this product really stand out. I'm very glad we have it because my son loves, loves, loves these lights and dancing along with them!
Many happy hours talking to the animals December 6, 2009 M. Follows (West Midlands United Kingdom) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is worth every penny. The colours are really vibrant and warm. With the mat itself looking like a map, or plan view, of a river meandering through jungle and the cross-poles acting as the jungle canopy, our child has spent many happy hours 'talking' to the animals. The animals, birds and insects can be moved around and attached to different parts of the frame, or each other. There are different fabrics, providing plenty of stimulation. There is a battery compartment in the giraffe's bum (takes 3 size C batteries) and this powers the light-and-sound show from a box where the cross-poles intersect. The music, a Caribbean steel band, is interspersed with jungle sounds. After a while the sound will stop, to start again when motion is detected in the cross-poles. Highly recommended.
