So exciting she couldn't wait till christmas...... October 12, 2008 Mrs. E. L. Gooch (Norfolk UK) 43 out of 43 found this review helpful
I bought this for my 5 month old daughter for christmas by then she will be 7 months. I work in childcare and we see daily evidence of the positive effects familiar photos have on babies. This toy combines this with visually stimulating colours, crinkly fabric tabs and a recordable message function. Despite trying to hide it (thought we'd put the photos in before we wrapped it) my daughter spotted it and her response was electric. She reached for the familiar faces and grabbed at the tabs. It is aimed at 6 months plus but it would be fine for younger babies if used under supervision, although it would be ideal if your baby can sit unaided as it is slightly heavy for mini fingers. I highly recommend this toy as it's great fun, educational and a great source of comfort and security for your baby. 10/10
USE THIS GREAT PRODUCT FOR THE DISABLED October 31, 2008 MANDY (BRITAIN) 34 out of 34 found this review helpful
I CAN SEE ALL THE BENIFITS FOR BABIES BUT ALSO FOR OTHERS. MY SON IS 18 YEARS OLD MENTALY & PHISICALY DISABLED & HAS GREAT PROBLEMS WITH COMUNICATION THIS TOY IS BEEN GREAT FOR HIM. FOR STARTERS BRIGHT EYE CATCHING COLOURS, ITS GOOD & CHUNKY SO MAKES IT EASY FOR HIS FINGERS TO TURN PAGES, YOU CAN PUT REAL LIFE PICTURES IN (NOT SOME PENCIL OR CARTOON DRAWING THAT MEANS NOTHING) ITS A GOOD SIZE TO TRANSPORT AROUND & WE CAN PUT IN PICTURES OF FAMILY + THINGS HE WANTS LIKE DRINK ETC + WITH THE ADDED RECORDING IT REINFORCES TO THE PERSON WHAT THE PICTURE MEANS (WE SEND HIS WITH HIM WHEN HE GO'S TO RESPITE CARE & THEY THINK ITS GREAT) ALL IN ALL A SPLENDID PRODUCT THAT I WISH HAD BEEN MADE YEARS AGO, I WILL GET ANOTHER, CHEERS TOMY 10/10.
A Fantastic Find! January 7, 2009 Jodie Martin (Isle of Man) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a superb toy and I am so pleased we found it. I have recently moved away from all my family and I have 2 young children. I bought them a Forget Me Not Photo Album each, and family members put in a picture of themselves and left personalised messages. Fynlo, at 10 months, loves the albums as much as Lilee-Mae, who is 2 and a half. My 17 year old daughter even wants one! They are absolutley brilliant, and I whole heartedly recommend them.
Fab gift December 30, 2008 Enzolino's Mamma (San Jose, CA, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My 21 month old son received this as a Christmas gift from my sister-in-law and he absolutley adores it. All of my family live in the UK and I live in the US so my son doesn't get to see my family very often. This is great for him because not only does he see photographs of my brothers, sisters and parents but he gets to hear their voices too! The book itself is sturdy and nicely bright and colorful. He uses the fabric tabs to turn the pages and he's discovered that he can control who he wants to listen too by pressing the corresponding button on their page.
This book is perfect not only for little ones but for older children with long-distance family. The messages can be re-recorded and they will not erase when the battery dies. I can see my son using this book for many years to come.
A must have for all little boys and girls June 24, 2010 Baby Doll (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I brought the Tomy Forget-Me-Not Photo Album for my daughter as a Christmas present when she was 20 months old.
The idea of the Tomy photo album is that you put photos of your babies loved ones in and they can record a message for him or her. As far as I know the Tomy photo album is the first of its kind for babies so it makes for a really unique, personal and special gift.
I put photos and messages in my daughters photo album and wrapped it up. She couldn't believe her eyes when she opened it - all her favourite people in one book! And they were talking to her!
She's 3 years old now and she'll still quite happily sit there for ages just smiling, laughing, talking and playing with it. I'm just a bit gutted I didn't get it sooner.
The photo album holds up to 8 photos. The photos are slipped into the top of the album and each one is protected with a transparent plastic film. Recording messages is really easy and messages can last between 10 and 15 seconds.
The photo album itself is all different bright colours (which means it's unisex) and made of tough plastic (robust and easy to wipe clean). There are 8 pages which are seperated with crinkly fabric tabs which makes it easy for little fingers to turn the pages. Baby can go all through the album or select which message they want to play by pressing the button on their chosen page. On the front cover is a little round mirror and the album is in the shape of a butterfly. There are no small parts so it's all very safe.
The photo album requires 2 x AAA batteries which are included and are still going strong a year and a half on for us!
The bottom of the photo album is flat so when it's not in use it can also double up into a stand up photo frame.
The only downside I can think of is that it's a little on the heavy side. My daughter is fine with it but it might be a little awkward for young babies considering the photo album is suitable from 6 months onwards.
This is a must have for any little boy or girl. It is total value for money and will last them far beyond their baby and toddling years. It's a great way for them to learn and remember special people and loved ones (particularly useful if they live far away and the child doesn't get to see them often).
I totally recommend.
